Went by the ATM Friday, and it was outta service. Bank is open Saturday mornings, so I wrote a check and headed over to get some cash. I saw someone at the ATM, so I drove around to give it a try. I scanned my check card, entered my PIN, indicated how much I wanted ( yes, I had more than that amount in my account), then the message popped up that the ATM was temporarily unavailable. Then the "login" screen appeared. I parked, went in, and cashed the check I had written.

Sunday, Carla was balancing the checkbook, and noticed the ATM withdrawal ($100) was show as "pending". So I called the bank's 800 #, but the guy told me there was nothing he could do until it was no longer "pending".

Carla will check Monday morning, and if it shows as completed, I will give the bank another call.

Good luck! You know they think they are never wrong.

I tried to tell them my account balance was wrong one time. Argued with them for 6 months. I finally decided to keep the extra $2,000. Closed my account and moved to the company credit union. Never heard a word from them.

Don't you just love it when they insist that "it couldn't have happened"?

I once had an ATM spit out multiples of what I had asked for. You guessed it: "it couldn't have happened."

But they did accept the money when I returned it.

Naturally, the money was coming in to them.....not going to you.

I called the bank at their 800 #, then was directed to call the bank's other 800 # for the fraud people. They took my info, said they will send me forms, which I can fax back to them, and they will look into it. No mention of when I will get my $100 back in my account.

Don't worry, if Suntrust won't make it right, I will take my accounts, including 3 IRA's, to another bank.

Carla checked our bank account online, and found $100 credited to your account. I have yet to receive any of the forms Suntrust was to send. I guess a quick check of the ATM transactions vs the ATM dispensing money uncovered the discrepancy.

Surely any bank worth its salt would not give money back out of the goodness of its corporate heart.
