Google ads on Home page...
Are the Google ads going to be a permanent fixture? I would much rather pay dues than have ads on the site.

Re: Google ads on Home page...
The ads don't really bother me. They are pretty discreet compared to others I've seen and if the help defray the costs, I don't have a problem with them.
Can we control the content?

Re: Google ads on Home page...
I too have no problem with them if they help Steve defray the costs. It looks like they all have an NC or woodworking based content, so I am assuming that there is some control. To tell you the truth I probably would have never seen them if it wasn't for this thread pointing them out. I so rarely go to the Home page, I generally use the New Posts function to surf around...of course I tend to read every post and keep up with it pretty well.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Re: Google ads on Home page...
I agree with Dave as I rarely go to the home page. I surf the site in a similar way. If it helps offset the cost then I am all for it.

No problem here, I never go to the home page either, anything to pay the bills.

Re: Google ads on Home page...
this site has a home page????? LOL. I never really considered what page I have bookmarked on my desktop... but it is very convenient for me to open right into the "new posts" page.....
I am not hurt by the idea of the ads at all. We used Google AdWords on another site that I was a long time member on, and there were regular paying advertisers there, too. unobtrusive compared to many other potential resources.

Ads?
I probably just missed this, but we now have ads on the home page? Not complaining, just asking.

Re: Ads?
Hey Reggie. Mike started a thread on this last night. He wasn't enthused about them, but I think the general consensus is that they are fairly unobtrusive, locally related, and help off set expenses. I have no problem with m.

Re: Google ads on Home page...
It is a very small price to pay. If it helps to keep the site moving forward it is more then worth it.

Re: Google ads on Home page...
IMHO, they are small and unobtrusive. I have NO problem with them if it helps defray the operating costs for Steve. I only go there long enough to see who's on most of the time.

Re: Google ads on Home page...
I'm in favor of the ads if they stay as unobtrusive as they are -- any of us can click on one if we wish and if they defray cost from the corporation's bottom line, then all the better. Since there were two threads started on this topic, I merged them into one thread earlier this morning.
