Ten people were able to make it to the Durham lunch today. There were a lot of conversations among the group so I assume that everyone enjoyed themselves. You know what they say...."no pics it didn't happen" so here they are.

front row left to right James Davis, Amy Dowden, and Larry (I might be wrong on this one. If so, please forgive my senior moment and correct me if I'm wrong)
back row Jim Campbell (froglips), PeteB301, Rick Cornell (rcorne01), Dave O'Nan (DaveO), Wayne Barr (ebarr)

Rick, Todd (Toddler) on the end with face partially hidden, Larry, Stuart Nelson (Tar Heel) Amy, James, and Jim

Let's do it again sometime. Maybe breakfast on a Saturday morning. Any comments?

Stuart thanks for organizing this, and remembering to bring a camera The BBQ was excellent, and so was the company. I wish we could find a restaurant with giant round tables so the conversations wouldn't get divided. I sat close to the middle and felt like I was at a tennis match.
What made this lunch gathering extra cool was that Larry (Stroupe) is a member of only two days, and decided to come out and join us (talk about jumping into the fire with both feet).
It was great to meet him, and see some familiar faces too.

Dave

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

I agree with you Dave about the round tables. Next time I'll remember to find a place that provide them. And thanks for letting me know that I got Larry's name correct. I didn't have a senior moment after all.

Thanks for the pics. I was supposed to make it but due to other things happening right now I couldn't.

Good Lord!! That's a rough lookin' crew!

Thank goodness Amy was there to add a little class!!

There's definitely some "chewin and chawin" goin on in that bunch!

Hey, sawduster, shame we couldn't be there to show that crowd how to eat.

There were a few less smiling pigs down on the farm after our lunch!

I had a great time, good to see so many folks out and about.

Todd brought his guitar project and Rick had a bank. I wasn't sure, but I think Amy was playing with blocks?

Fun times!

Jim

Agreed a very good time! The summer time is usually very filled up for me, either getting ready to go on vacation, being on vacation and then recovering from vacation - so I really enjoyed seeing everyone. Thanks Stuart! (When's the next one?) My bank really was nothing more than my first attempt at an idea, having been encouraged by seeing Stuart's posted earlier. Bear with me... This is sort of like publicizing a goal so y'all hold me responsible. I am going to be making banks for my daughter and 3 nieces this year, and promise to post pictures as I complete them. Got a couple bits of advice and confirmation of ideas from several at lunch. Now to put them into action! (DaveO - the more I thought about your one solid block approach, the better I liked it!)

Stuart,

Thanks for putting this together. It was a great time and I was able to meet a lot of folks that I may not have gotten to any other way. I hope you do it again soon.

The pigs may not be smiling Jim, but there were a bunch of full woodworkers smiling going down the road afterwards.
