The plan looks simple enough, but I think I'm missing something!

The measurements are in centimeters, not inches. Does that help?

Joe, I think I have the plans for that from Mad Magazine ~1960. That's where I saw it first

Roger

FWIW, it's called the Mad Magazine Poiyut

You have to look at today's date to understand the plan.

With the accuracy I usually apply to my projects, most of them turn out looking just like that tripod.

OK, my memory was a little fuzzy
A quick search helped.

1) It was on Mad Magazine cover March, 1965
2) It was Poiuyt (not Poiyut )
3) To figure out where poiuyt came from . . . look at your keyboard

Seems like only yesterday,
Roger

I've always known it as a "Three Pronged Blivet"

Thanks Joe and Pete, that was both humerus and more information than I ever needed to know.
I was wondering what shenanigans I would come across on this Fool's Day

You just have to learn to think in three dimensions.
