I hope that there is no more of a problem than a little water on the floor for anyone, but clearly, we all need the rain. Here in the mountains, were are in an extreme drought -- we were more than 12" below normal at the end of last year and are an additional 11-12" below normal so far this year before the remnants of Fay dropped some rain here. The main water supply for Hendersonville is the South Mills River and it had dropped from an average of just over 120 cubic feet per second to less than 20 cfs, forcing water restrictions to the town. This storm only dropped about 2-1/2", so we had some relief, but we are still in a drought here.

My shop has stayed dry, but I've lost several days of outdoor work finishing my latest commission project. Tomorrow I will be able to get back at it.

Sorry to hear about your woes, Brian.

Yadkin County is OK. I got 3 1/3" in my rain gauge.

Found out this morning that I was driving home from northern Durham during the tornado warning for Northern Durham county.

It sure did get wet in Garner, but no flooding that I saw. Though I forgot to peak into my shop this morning. Heck I had more problems with flooding in the bathroom - my shower curtain must have been hanging just right - large puddle in that room and headed for my bedroom.

There were some "great" thunderboomers last night....shake the ground and rumble on and on and on. Though I don't recall any lighting.

Lake Concord (actually in Kannapolis) was about 3 1/2 feet above full when I looked out the window yesterday morning. They had drained almost 2 foot of water out of it in the last week, probably to get ready for this storm, but they didn't lower it near enough. Actually, Lake Concord fills very quickly when it rains hard, but it usually also recovers fairly quickly after the rain stops. Last evening the level was almost back down to "full pond". My home and shop both stayed dry during this, and I'm very thankful for it . It's good to hear that most of you have also made out OK and those who did get some water, so far, didn't get hit too hard. If anyone in my area needs some help I will be happy to do what I can.

Not too bad in Pittsboro, about 4" in the gauge. Haven't even checked the shop. Worst was coming home to no power and it stayed out until about 2am this morning - cooking on the grill by torch light

No damage in my part of Cary. The Town board voted it down.
