Stokesdale would be nice! Oak Ridge, Summerfield, anyplace around there.

I work near the farmer's market South of I-40.

I like this area. Close enough to Greensboro, without being too close. It still feels a little like being in the country! It would be about 30min in traffic from my place to where you work (20 min if you go before/after the rush).

There is a nice shop for sale on our street. Comes with a detached house, just like you wanted!

Mike, I can help except for this weekend. I am on-call at work this week, so the best I could do is help you load up stuff, haul off stuff. Next weekend I can help most anytime.

Can you PM the address to me?

Thanks!

Mike,

Congratulations on making the sale of your farm -- I know it has been your goal for some time to get closer to your workplace. And good luck in finding the ideal workshop with a solid home attached! Hopefully it won't have an old swimming pool that needs to be filled either!! I'd offer to help, but every weekend in November is already committed.

Congrats Mike! I know you are excited. I have been thinking about you and wonderring how you are doing. I have wanted to come by for a weekend of sawing but haven't had the time. I was going to offer to bring the mill and just leave it for a couple weeks. If you still want to saw, I can probably find a couple hours sometime next week to bring it to you. If not, then I'm sorry I haven't had time to work it in...health problems and busy busy busy.

If you need to store some equipment or tools or whatever, let me know. I have some barn space in Pilot...and some up here for that matter. I also have plenty of outside space if you have something that can be stored under cover of a tarp. Just let me know.

Again, congrats!

Well, everybody says it is a buyers market, I guess that's only true if you are willing to live in a 2 bedroom 1 bath home on a 1/4 acre lot with no trees and no dogs allowed.

We have looked at four houses and hundreds of pages of listings and I like our place 1000 times better. However, I have just been informed that all conditions of the contract have been accepted and now we must move.

Keep on searching Mike! I am a firm believer in the fact that stuff just doesn't happen, you'll find a place!

My wife and I are in our 6th house in the 41 years we've been married, so we know what it is like to dislocate/relocate. Two key pieces of advice I can pass along -- (1) Establish a prioritized list of features/requirements for your new home (this will help you and your realtor to narrow the field), and (2) don't accept less than all of you really want -- we almost bought a home here in the mountains where each of us would need to compromise one of our key needs and neither of us would have been happy with the selection. We looked at well over 200 on Realtor.com in our price range and looked at 30-40 until we found this house -- we are still elated with our choice.

And, of course, remember NOT to buy a house that is so unique you could not sell it tomorrow -- location, location, location!
