| Member | Re: Dr. Put the fear of God in me Don't know how you guys feel about this, but I am a firm believer in "Juicing"- ahem, NATURAL FRUIT JUICES. I have a Juiceman II I have had for years, and it really works. Jay Kordich-the inventor of the machine says Cantaloupe juice is excellent as well for losing weight. I have been doing a daily regimen of Apple, Pear, Pineapple (fresh) Grapes, Carrots, and alittle lemon peel for pectin. Never felt better in my life. Just make it in the morning (about 2 quarts) and drink immediately. Not only good for you, but it tastes great. And Greg, if you want to be able to ride your bike further, Parsley juice flavored with an Apple is the way to go. DAMHIKT. Whatever juices you make, always add three or four nice carrots to the mix. Great Cancer fighter. Jay Kordich states Carrots saved his life. He is a recovered former Cancer patient.

| Member | Re: Dr. Put the fear of God in me Greg- The weight loss is phenominal- as a pharmacist one of the things that makes me feel the greatest is when folks make the lifestyle changes necessary to avoid talking a pill to solve their problem. (bad for my business but way better for the patients health) You'll definatly see your BP go down and the GERD should resolve itself as well. Another thing that fascinates me is how many calories people eat without knowing. Once people take the time to add up calories they are less likely to have that extra whatever. Knowledge is power. As an avid roadbiker let me recomend a stationary trainer-you just hook up the back wheel of your bike to the trainer and spin away while watching TV. I was on mine last night watching Grey's anatomy and I burned ~ 750 calories, I figure I would've just been sitting on the couch anyway. They start at around $150 and go up from there. Congratulations again!! - Mike |

| Member | Re: Dr. Put the fear of God in me Congrats! I am in the same boat and at around the same numbers but I got a big kick start under the most unlikely of circumstances. I just got back from a Disney land/sea vacation (4 days at Disney, 3 on a Bahamas cruise) earlier in the week. I was very aware of how common it is to balloon on these trips, so I was careful to try to choose fruits as snacks, fish without sauce as the meat when avaialable, drink lots of water and limit the fatty stuff. Also, we have 4 kids and my wife has a really bad knee, so I am the main "go play" guy. I lost about 10 pounds on the trip (9 days) and I have lost a few more this week. I had to buy new shorts for the trip because my old ones were too tight. Now they fit again. Last night I went running for the first time in a while. I made it about 5 miles with a few wind sprints during the last mile. The kids whipped me into shape last week and I am determined not to let that slip! BTW, my current rate of loss is unhealthy and I will have to taper off very soon. I am one of those people who can't seem to stick to it unless I get a jump start up front and see some results though. |

| Member | Re: Dr. Put the fear of God in me Alright!!! After 3 1/2 weeks, I'm down 12 lbs so far. Goal: get down to 180 lbs, that means I still have 25.5 lbs to go for that goal. Next Goal: Maintain that 180 lbs. According to the "Book" whatever that may be, I'm supposed to be no more than 169 lbs for my height. Believe me - if I get down to 169, I will look gaunt, tired and crappy (or is that crabby).

| Member | Re: Dr. Put the fear of God in me Awesome! I am down about 17 over the course of 3 weeks and settling into a pretty good routine (for now, anyway). I wish I could get in more shop time though. Right now the garage is full of stuff moved from my late mother in law's apartment and i can barely turn around. But I cleared my "new" bench and should be able to get back to work finishing up a couple of instruments soon. Trouble is, now I want to work on the boat and sail. Competing hobbies! If it weren't for the dang job I would have more time for them... |
