Even as I type this, my younger beagle, Grady is "under the knife".
Took him in to the Vets yesterday morning, very ill.
Bottom line, intestinal blockage.
Without doubt, this will turn out to be plastic of some sort, I lost a young beagle exactly this way a few years ago, when she didn't come out of the ansthesia. The one in my avatar, actually.
I do however, have great faith and trust in the people treating him(my daughter among them) but, at this point in time, I'm so nervous, you could drive a pin up my butt with a jackhammer.

I hate waiting for a phone to ring!!!!!!!!!!-

Sending thoughts and prayers your way! It's amazing how intertwined animals become in our lives! Best wishes!

Good luck Tom. Dogs, and I guess cats to some weird folks, are part of our family. I know how you must feel. I had to put down ours after 17 years and I still look for him when I go to the shop or outside. Sometimes I swear I hear his toenails clicking through the kitchen.

Hope things turn out well.

TBone,

Cat people aren't that weird; you would be shocked to hear how much I spent to have my daughter's hamster operated on - twice!

Tom,

Sending positive thoughts your way. Hang in there.

Got my paws crossed too.

My puppy Tony says "woof woof bark woof". Its either "Hope all turns out" or "can i have another treat".

Either way, we are pulling for ya.

I feel for you Tom and send my prayers. I had one dog operated on for stomach blockage and another disemboweled herself, both survive. Some people don't understand how animals are part of the family, I do.

Good Luck and keep us posted.

Jimmy

Hope things go well for you and the dog. My son called yesterday and told us that his 9 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever died yesterday morning. He was devastated. I know how he feels since I had to put down my black lab a few years ago. We can really get attached to mour pets.

Andy,

Just yanking the cat people's chain a little, just my nature to start trouble. Cat's are as precious to their owner's as my dog was to my family. Personally I don't trust anything with sharp claws that's faster than I am AND sneaky.

But you are the first I've ever heard that had surgery on a hamster. Those are some working fools. The one my son had would carry 5 lbs of cedar shavings up that tube.

A friend in college had an 8' boa constrictor that got sick. The vet told him to hold the snake while I swabbed his mouth with a Qtip soaked in hydrogen peroxide "but he's not gonna like it". Took about 2 seconds to realize that snake was going to die, cause I won't even going to consider it.

Badger and I send our best for a speedy recovery from Grady's surgery. We know he's family!

Tom,
We'll be prayin' for Grady. Have you heard anything about the surgery? Did they get the blockage cleaned out?
