Re: Diet Update

I know that sounds (and is) a lot of weight but I KNOW you will do it if you are truly committed and want it more than anything you've ever wanted. My goal is 81 lbs and at weigh-in this week I hit 75.2 lbs. It's been 32 weeks and I've averaged 2.35 lbs/week. I know I will hit my target weight of 190 lbs and will be there in 3 weeks. And even more important than losing the weight is the fact that I know I will never gain it back. My motivation is my little 4 1/2 yr old granddaughter and 17 month old grandson. I want to see them grow up. I now this statement may sound cocky and I don't mean it to. It's just that I am absolutely determined and absolutely believe that I'll keep the weight off.

Keep up the good work 'cause you are making great progress.

Re: Diet Update

I cant believe I forgot to post last week. I lost 1.2 lbs. 2 weeks ago for a total of 18 in four weeks, and despite being Munich this past week I lost...5.8 lbs. this week for a total of 23.8 lbs. in five weeks. Can't say I am disappointed. I just have to concentrate on what I have done so far and not on how far I have to go.

Holy bratwurst Doug, that's astounding! It's hard to eat healthy while travelling, especially to a place like Munich where there is the omnipresent beer temptation!

Congratulations on all your progress!!!

BTW - how was Munich? I'm going there in the fall, if all goes well.

Re: Diet Update

Bas:

Thanks for the encouragement. It was unusually hot and then one day we had hail about the size od cherries for 10 minutes. Of course the place is CRAZY over Euro 2008 and the German team playing in the finals tomorrow. The TV signal went out in the second half and everyone missed the key goals. . Otherwise the place was the same.

Let me know when your going. I may be going back the end of July/early August, and will definitely be there fow 2 weeks after Octoberfest. (Good luck finding a room that week!)

Thanks for the reminder, I need to start booking flight, hotel room etc. I know how crazy things can get over soccer, but of course I have ZERO interest in Euro 2008 since the Russians beat Holland...grumble grumble....

Re: Diet Update

Good job Doug! I've reached another personal milestone. Lost 21 lbs in 8 weeks. Almost 10% of my body weight, but that 20lb marker was a happy occasion.

Re: Diet Update

This was my least successful week to date. I lost 1 lb. for a total of 24.8 lbs. in 6 weeks. I am glad I lost but darn I work hard. Oh well there is always this coming week and working at scott's sure built up a sweat so hopefully that will get me off toi a great start this week!

My turn to Update

Finally down 25.5 lbs, 23.5 to go. These last few lbs to get that magic 25 mark have been a bear but they suddenly came off over the last few days.

Re: Diet Update

I was on a diet once - it was a see food diet - I saw food and I eat it. Come to think about it I'm still on that diet . You could always come work with Jim and I in the woods - oh I would say we loose a good 5 lbs of sweat in a afternoon.

Re: Diet Update

I guess that explains why those boards are always so wet when they come out the saw mill

Re: Diet Update

I did not weigh in last week due to the Charlotte Shop Crawl. But this today I weighed in and my total loss over 8 weeks is 27 lbs! So I lost 2.2 over the last 2 weeks. The week after next is another trip to Germany. Hopefully I can be as successful as the last time.

Re: Diet Update

Way to go Doug!!! I'm very impressed you continue to lose this much weight after the initial "bump" - a pound a week is phenomenal. Going on a business trip (regardless of destination) always complicates things, but it _is_ possible to eat healthy. Even in Germany

Re: Diet Update

9 weeks and 29 lbs. lost. I have a long way to go, but as long as I keep making progress all is well. I am in Germany Right now. No beer, pretzels or chocolate for me. Oh well, last time I was here, June, I lost 5.8 lbs. So all is not bad.

I started this one week after the picnic. I wonder where I will be at the 2009 picnic? Thanks for the encouragement.
