I picked up a copy of a little book of his, "The Taming of the Screw".

Its a Dave Barry How-To Book on Home Repair.

I almost spit milk out my nose on this one.

From Chapter 2, Wood

"Wood has been the preferred building material for thousands of years; because it is one of the few materials that will rot as well as burn."

How true. If it does not turn out a planned, you can always sell it as designer firewood. With the right advertising it would even sell.

I'll have to to pick that one up. My sides only recently stopped hurting from reading Dave Barry Slept Here: A Sort of History of the United States (finished approx. 2 years ago).

Hmmm. Makes one wonder, were woodworkers the first to explore "built in obsolescence"?
