Wow, that's impressive. Are you actually going to send him to college at such a young age. I wasn't ready to go at 18 and wasted a whole year (0.0 GPA for 2 semesters).

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Nope not sending him off just yet - He'll be attending community college.

The standard HS graduation gift around here is luggage and the traditional cake picturing dads boot swiftly kicking the Grad in the _ _ _. You get the hint... At least it's that's been the tradition, I'm at a loss what to do now. But I do know one thing - he's going to be figuring up BF for me at the next lumber run...

Just two left but I doubt it'll ever be empty - there are Grand Kids to spoil and send home

Good on ya for not letting him go off on his own at that age. My oldest qualified at 12 but we made her wait till she was 19 to go to college and then it is a smallish private college.

I lived in a college town most of my life so I know what goes on there. None of my girls will go to a big school until we think they are ready.

Dave,

The picture in your sig - is that what you looked like in college? That was definitely me, only a half full glass would have been an action shot. I went only a quarter early and didn't do so well either. But at the time I was 18 and in Georgia where 18 was "adult" across the board. I don't want to sound vain, because I am not, but I could have blown through college at an earlier age under a watchful eye. Instead I got in trouble while bored to tears the last couple of years of high school, didn't remember what it was like to have to study by the time I entered college, flunked out and ended up with a tech school diploma. I think community college while living at home is an excellent idea.

Gongrats Jeff I remember how proud I was when we took our daughter to Western Carolina University. She was not ready to do what it would take but we were still proud of her accomplishment and I know you are.
