Yeah its a reactive thing.. I have seen more than my fair share of copperheads this year and am careful not to be kicking around in shorts around the wood piles.

I have one 6 foot king snake that hangs out at the wood shop and every once in a while i see him crawling the rafters..Freaked out my father but he is use to me and vice-versa. I have actually had to pick him and move him off my equipment a time or two with no incident.

The brown mouse population has dropped considerably and haven't seen a copperhead since April.

The mice are probably more deadly than the snakes due to disease.
