I know some of you work with 4-H as volunteers, we've been involved for 15 years or so.

They have a some good woodworking and forestry information for the kids as well as lots of other good things for the kids to learn and enjoy.

This week is State 4-H congress when the most involved kids, parents, volunteers and leaders get together to compete, vote for officers and generally have fun together.

My youngest won a gold medal for her presentation, Taking care of your horses hooves last week. All the horse stuff is done a week earlier.

This week my second daughter won 1st place in the state Horticulture contest in the senior individual category. Our county's team didn't do as well but most of them have had only a few weeks to prepare. She also won 7th place out of 33 in fashion revue for sewing a 1950's style 4-H dress (her first), got voted into the honor club, is giving her presentation on Japanese flower arranging today and is running for vice-president of our district.

So, I was wondering if anybody else has kids at the state congress this year?

Also did you do anything in 4-h as you were growing up?

Me neither, Mike, But you must be extremely proud of the accomplishments of the young ones!!!

I am sure that it is their fine upbringing. They sure have their priorities straight!

Congrats on the awards!

It gets better!

Today I found out she won Gold in her presentation, got elected Vice President of our district and won Gold for her career poster. Last night she was invited to the sponsors banquet.

The bad news is she'll never have another week this GREAT!
