Is it only me, or are other members also getting pop-ups while lurking this forum? Some are woodworking relate others are not. I have all my security set to block pop-ups but to no avail. This is a great site and these pop-ups are getting pesky. I don,t seem to get them at other site. Thanks for your help.

First thing would be to check to see if you have any "special" browser toolbars installed. But it would help if you could provide a list of some of the domains that they are coming from. And or some screen shots. Some of us might be able to help you set things up to eliminate or at least minimize them Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3 |

it sounds to me that you may have some AdWare or spyware cookies on your computer -- many sites download these obnoxious routines that will bypass some of the basic IE security settings and will just drive you nuts. I have a program called XoftSpySE that runs twice a week on my computer and identifies spyware and quarantines it. Check it out here (I have no vested interest in this company, but the software works). Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; GTB6; InfoPath.2)

Thanks for all the replys. I guess I,ll have to look into software to get rid of spyware and adware. as suggested by Rob. Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; FunWebProducts; GTB6; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729)

I don't like it because they don't allow you a graceful exit and try to keep you on their site. Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; GTB6; InfoPath.2)
