[How Do I-Gallery] Photo Gallery ?

When accessing my own gallery - I see my albums.

When accessing someone else's gallery all I see random pictures and no way to show their album list.

how can I view a list of albums per member (like my own) instead of a bunch of random pics?

Jeff, Some of the issue is the way individual members organize their galleries. Not all members choose to make folders and directories. Your gallery is organized, like Canuck's below:



In addition, sometimes folks upload to galleries that aren't individual Member Galleries . . . like Furniture Projects, Shop Photos, etc. I think that is what you are seeing in the second link. RaymondP loaded the chair photos into the Furniture Projects gallery instead of his personal gallery.

I double-checked stoneskippers albums and can see the albums. See if you can see his albums, or mine. I know they are set up as albums. If not we'll kick it back to help.

OK, I think I got it
When you access a member's gallery using the camera icon or from gallery members list, the default presentation is the "My Photos" view. If you choose "My Albums" it switches to the view you posted above. Check out the menu options: My Photos • My Album • My Favorites. I underlined them in RED in the pix below. They toggle the view.

I click the first link (member galleries), scroll down and click on Alan in Little Washington. How do I display Alan's albums? All I see is a 31 pages of assorted photos - what gives?

Looks like Alan keeps all his photos in his main gallery, - no subfolders.

Ok I can buy that Alan don't have any albums (atleast that's the way it seems) but have a look at DaveO's page --->

page 1 shows that DaveO has 12 albums (top block of pictures labeled ALBUMS) then there is a second block of pictures with no label - what are they?
Click on Dave's page 2 http://www.ncwoodworker.net/pp/showg...ge=2&ppuser=51
and there is a unlabeled block of 12 pictures are they just pictures? Because when I click on a picture, it displays just the picture. If the unlabeled block on pages 1 ~5 had a label it might help me figure out if they are pictures from one of Daves albums or albums or just stand alone pictures not from an album.

When we conclude this album item, I have another that is even more confusing.

I'm reading this thread a little late but, DaveO has several albums with multiple pics categorized by album names (ie Boxes).

The photos below the albums are just "raw pics" .... not placed in an album.

It doesn't appear that Alan (of LW) has any of his photos placed into albums.

Like DaveO, I have a few albums containing multiple pics. Below the alums are a couple of pics with no "home album" in my gallery.

Wayne is correct, Jeff. Many of us that set up Albums didn't necessarily put 100% of our pictures into the various ones we created, so their are pictures within the "main" Album called DaveO or McRabbet or whatever. I have created several Albums and Sub-Albums -- for example, I have a "Projects" Album and then multiple Sub-Albums by specific project.

One key warning, however. If you created Albums and move pictures that have been used in prior posts, the links to those pictures in the old threads are broken. DAMHIKT!

I tried to arange mine in albums but I only had 4 albums so the rest are just random pics. hoe do I get more albums to arrange my shtuff?
not that I'll get round to it anytime soon but it does seem to tidy things a little.

When you go to Photo Gallery, you'll see the choices of My Photos, My Albums, My Favorites at the upper left of the Photo area. Click on My Albums. In the new window, you will see a link to Create a New Album right under the named trio of choices above. This only works when you first come into your Photo Gallery.

Actually I was waiting for Steve to come up with a new whizz-bang way to put my pics in albums w/o messing up the image links to them in existing threads here and on other forums.

Of course, if and when I ever post some new pics, I guess I could put them in folders- better late than never.

Fess up, you guys were just showing off Snagit or some other screen capture utility.
