I posted in the past about a photo upload issue, preventing upload-success, which turned out to have something to do with the flash versions used by both firefox 2.0.0.12 and seamonkey 1.1.9. I tried an experimental work-around, which works; I had no problem with uploading from an old netscape 7 on a 2.2.24 kernel RedHat 6.x, which is detected as noflash, so I copied down the url and entered it in the firefox browser:
http://www.ncwoodworker.net/pp/uploadphoto.php?cat=500&noflash=1
this worked OK, and gave me the noflash uploader, which tested an upload without problem.
I'm composing this in firefox on Vector-Linux 5.8.
Seamonkey help: about plugins reports:
Shockwave Flash
File name: libflashplayer.so
Shockwave Flash 9.0 d78
Firefox is not so helpful, there doesn't seem to be any direct way to find out about what it's using for flash, but it's OK with the workaround (firefox was the test-browser). I would presume it to be using the same flash lib as seamonkey (which is Vector-Linux 5.8 default browser), as both browsers have identical failure mode with the flash uploader.
