Looking good, Mike.

Glad to see you were able to take advantage of the cold snap and get back in the shop!

The temp in my garage dropped down to 85 the other night. I had to put a sweatshirt on to work out there.

Last night I finished the mortises on one trestle for the short rail. So one side is about 90% done. I was pleased that the entire thing was square with the exception of one leg being about 1/64 off. This is the first time I've ever done anything like this so I am happy with the results so far.

I've still got to decide whether I want to use draw pegs or wedges on the leg/foot joint and I will be wedging the short rail tenons.

I took a chance last night and cut the profile on the ends of the feet. I've got some work to do the clean them up, but I was pretty impressed with my little 10" bandsaw. It cut pretty well.

The edge profile on the feet looks good, Mike! It will clean up nicely.

You'll never see the 1/64th off of square when you joint the stretchers. Wood is a little bit forgiving.

Are you gonna cut a profile on the bottom edge, too? That's as much fun as the feet edges.

Thanks Chuck! Ed (nelsone) and I talked about that a while back and he suggested adding pieces to the bottom instead of cutting in.I am probably going to add the pieces to the bottom.

Thanks Ed. I'm making a little more progress since the temp in the garage has dropped below 100.

Looks great Mike! It is coming along nicely. You and Chuck have got me itching to start my new bench.

Are you going to put any levelers in the feet? I am thinking I probably will personally as if I don't I know it will rock with my floor.

I'm pretty sure OTTO is looking hard at this thread, but I will not let it be closed. I finished mortise 8 of 12 last night and the end assemblies on the base are almost done. I've got a lot of clean up left to do. I glued up one of the long rails last night and will glue the other one up tonight. Then it's off to the races in chiseling out the the last 4 mortises.

That is cobwebs and wood chips on the side. Not a ragged cut.
