Workmate rules!
Mine is ~20 years old and it has routinely been used and abused. And it's still 100% functional with the original 4 orange bench dogs. Of course, one end is shorter than the other since I ripped it off with circular saw

Here's mine. FIrst "woodworking" tool LOML ever bought me (Birthday present in 1981) Old trusted friend that still gets as much use as the "new guy" next to it.

I have one that is at least 25 and maybe 30 years old. I don't even remember not having it. But I don't get to "use" it much because for the last 15 years, it's been holding my RAS. Next shop will have that built in so I can get my workmate back.

Now. This is a very interesting thread!

I purchased my Black & Decker JobMate back in 1978 when I was about to finish a family room in the basement of our first home in Canada. I believe I paid about $25.00 for it, new!) I still have it and pull in out for just about every project I work on. I pound on it, saw on it, clamp and paint on it and it has never failed me!! It is built like a tank though, out of all steel with steel plate covering the top. As a result of the weight, it gets folded down and slid under my old workbench. Too heavy to hoist up onto the wall for storage!

I can't imagine being without it!

Anyone ever seen one here in the U.S.?

Wayne
