Huh? What the heck is this doing in workshops? Well, when my MIL passed away, we moved a lot of her stuff into the garage, leaving little room for me to do anything. It was hot and I had no AC anyway, so it wasn't that big of a deal and I figured it wouldn't be for very long.

I finally got AC recently (not a stealth gloat; there is another thread on that) and we had sold a lot of things, but still had a large couch left. We decided to use it in our bonus room instead of a futon we have had up there. A couple of neighbors helped me make the switch Saturday night and I posted the futon yesterday morning. With less emotional attachment involved, I felt a little freer to wheel and deal and it was gone before nightfall.

BTW, interesting trend with my CL sales. I think I should send my kids to NCSU because that's where all my used furniture goes. Must be some kind of sign from above...

Anyway, that clears up more floor space, but more importantly that was the last item that could be ruined by dust. There are just boxes and dustable wood (real or wannabe wood) pieces left. I will throw a tarp over the stuff, but some dust manages to find its way in frm time to time anyway.

Kids are tracked out - no homework for 3 weeks (helping with homework eats up a big chunk of "free" time while they are in school).

I am back in bizness!!!

Yes; I do actually use the little "less than optimal" scroll saw. I will have to arrange a time to come and get them so I can drool on your new saw.

If you promise to use a bib, I will even let you use it.

I may get a chance this weekend if you will be around.

BTW, I tried to cut some white oak that was about 3/16" with the cheapy little pinned scrollsaw. I was rounding the end on some sail battens I cut on the big bandsaw and it has a resaw blade on it that doesn't do tight curves so I fugured I would do it quick on the little scrollsaw. I figured wrong. I ended up doing it on my 9" bandsaw. Anyway, I changed the blade tonight while I was cleaning up and putting things away. The nice thing abot pinned is how simple that is. I did in a few seconds and didn't even have to put my glasses on. But a quick test cut on thin hardboard scrap indicated more was wrong - I was afraid I might have done real damage to it trying to make it work too hard. Then I put my glasses on and realized I had the blade upside down.

That is a very worthy gloat Andy! I understand that all too well right now. Having all of the tools is great, but if you don't have the time to use them, they just sit there and collect dust (like mine). Good for you buddy. Make some sawdust for me!

Cheers,

Trent

PS: I'm almost always at work when I'm on here nowadays. I guess talking about making sawdust is better than nothing at all.
