shop progress 2-16-08

With the structure pretty much complete the time has come to start moving in machines etc. from their various temporary homes. Yesterday I moved a pretty large site built shelving unit from the metal shed in the back yard to the shop using the available Troy-Bilt moving van/trailer. The next move entailed a trip to the rental storage unit in town 12 miles distant. With ramps, dolly, cussing and a little sweat the RAS, tablesaw, benchtop drillpress, SS's, and various storage furniture made their way home. Coming back I had the nagging feeling that Granny Clampett should have been perched in her rocking chair somewhere on my highly loaded truck and trailer. I think I am getting the hang of redneck engineering. I was rather pleased that this did not happen although the next storage unit run does involve a refrigerator

Wow Glenn! You were busy yesterday....I guess you didn't need my help after all??

If an appliance hand truck will come in handy for the frig, I have one you can use.

Let me know anytime you need assistance.

Re: shop progress 2-16-08

Thanks Randy, your previous offer of help given in true North Carolina Woodworker spirit has been noted and I will contact you if I need some extra muscle. The only real hassle was the tablesaw because it currently is on undersized casters and very shaky. I ended up laying it down in the trailer for stability, when I set it up I will be making a better support system. When I got it back here I plugged it in and it actually ran!! this saw was a trash collection save when I was living in temporary quarters and went directly into storage without being tested.

Ahh, moving in. I predict more cussing as you lay out machines, realize that you missed x, y, and z, and then happiness and satisfaction as it all comes together!

Keep the pics and updates coming!
