I got all my pipe and fittings at the Lowes on Airport Road. I also used a mixture of 6" and 4" S&D PVC. Works good. |

I know this because I've been spending a lot time lately cleaning out my 4" piping which is going to 6" right after this project.

Name: Mark City: Concord State: NC County: Cabarrus Join Date: Nov 2005 Age: 53 Avg Visit Freq/Week = 6.96 over 180 days | I have a mix of metal 6" HVAC and PVC fittings connected to 6" S&D PVC on my DC system. (The PVC fittings were marked down at Lowes) Prices and selection at NB Handy near the airport in Greensboro were ~1/3 the cost of PVC and sturdy enough for the job. I did splurge on the long 90 deg. 6" transition from the cyclone inlet to the main. It was $35 but a much heavier gauge metal since it supports the main. The other wyes and elbows were in the $5-$10 range. You'll need to crimp some of the reducing fittings to fit in reverse when going to 4" from 6" if you go this route. Pretty easy with a crimper or a pair of long needle nose pliers. |
