Progress on ZCyclone Installation

I got the new 220V line ran alone the outside shop wall. It would have been fast except for the firebreak in the wall. Had to take down part of the plywood sheathing. After that I attached the Cyclone to the wall. Still working on the angle of the unit relative to the wall. I have to get more ducting and I will be off and running!!

Looking good! On a side note, how did you adhere the blue sheathing to the inside of your garage door?

That thing looks like it could suck a tornado off it's course. Be carful that when you turn it on, you have allowed enough make up air "For YOUR ENTIRE SHOP" to allow it to work correctly.

Re: Progress on ZCyclone Installation

The sections of my garage door each have upper and lower lips. I cut the insulation and fitted it within each section such that the lips hold the pieces in place.

Mark:

I have turned it on already and no ill effects. Although I haven't seen my youngest child lately.

Re: Progress on ZCyclone Installation

But it's returning the air to the same space... shouldn't be any pressure differential there, just a little turbulence.

Re: Progress on ZCyclone Installation

Steve:

You are absolutely right. There is no pop since there is no change in air pressure in the shop. It isn't even as noisy as I thought it might be. I am working on the duct layout. I hope to use quick-clamp ducts (which it came with) so that I can rearraange it as need be, and can take it with me if we ever move.

Doug not sure what "quick-clamp ducts " are.
