After watching the demos on YouTube ( Incra TS-LS-WF ), this system looks very impressive, but I have read a few reviews that were... not negative, but not overly impressed.

Does anyone have the Table Saw/Router/WonderFence system?

Would appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks,

-mike

Re: Incra TS-LS-WF

I don't have one but I have seen them in action. The repeatability is perfect, but they do take up a lot of space on your top. I use my outfeed/side support table as an assembly table also so it would really get in the way.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Re: Incra TS-LS-WF

I have the router setup with the WonderFence and the works. It is very nice and super accurate. In fact, I've been in the market for the Tablesaw one because the repeatability is so nice. But, like Dave said ... they take up a lot of space. My router table is huge (I have the 25" setup) and takes it's share plus some of floor space. Quality is top notch on the products too. Keep an eye on the WWing forums because I've seen a couple for sale as of late.

Re: Incra TS-LS-WF

Dave/Jeremy, thanks for the feedback. I have the same issues with regard to space. The 52" version is out of the question for my shop (and the 32" may be tight) I did get a reply from Mark at Incra, who said that the system can be flipped when using with a right sided router table, but I need to look into how easy it is to switch between tablesaw and router table and keep the accuracy without recalibration (From what I have read, it is easy.... I guess I'm a little skeptical).

Thanks again.

Re: Incra TS-LS-WF

I have a Jointech Cabinetmaker Fence system on my dedicated Router table and they have a nearly identical system called the Sawtrain for table saws. While Incra made the first very small jig like this, Jointech made the first versions of these fence systems and they are excellent -- Incra copied the design and marketed them better. I would not have one on a tablesaw because of the added space required to the right when set to make wide panel cuts on the saw -- I have a Grizzly G1023SLX tablesaw with a 52" capacity for cutting sheet stock -- with this unit, I'd need more than 8' of clearance to the right of the blade to move the fence that far. As it is, my saw sits in the center of a 15' x 25' shop and I can just rip a 12' long board.

I like the unit I have for a router fence, but would not have one on a saw.

Re: Incra TS-LS-WF

I have it. My router is mounted in my Table Saw. It takes up LESS room this way. I love the system. I even upgraded it when I went to the PM2000 which has a bigger table than my old Jet did.

Re: Incra TS-LS-WF

It is easy. The fence is simply flipped around and the router attachments slipped on, and you are good to go.

Re: Incra TS-LS-WF

Thanks for the info Doug, that's good to know.

When you flip the fence for routing and then back for table saw use, how do you make sure the scale is calibrated? Is there some kind of a stop on the rails?

Thanks Rob, I will look into the Jointech setup as well.

Re: Incra TS-LS-WF

Mike:

Exactly. There are bolts on the sides of the rails that you position during initial set up. when turning the fence around you make sure the base abuts the bolts and your scale is automatically calibrated just as you set it up during the inital set up.

Re: Incra TS-LS-WF

Dang. This thread makes me want one even more .... WHY? OH WHY?!

On the Incra support ... A++ in my book too. That alone makes their products worth buying in my book. They have provided very personal and friendly service in the times I've contact them (even for stuff I bought used not from them directly). As for the Jointech people ... let me just say they disgusted & insulted me at the Charlotte show a few years back and I've never forgotten and will never give them my business or recommend anyone to them. If the transaction starts with bad service I can only imagine the rest ...
