President Moderator Until recently my miter saw has resided on an old kitchen cart, At the same time I had a Festool MFT (Multi-function table) resting on its side when not in use and the systainers (containers that the Festool tools come in) sitting on the floor with the Festool vacuum.
I got the idea to combine everything and get rid of the kitchen cart. I built a cabinet with roughly the same footprint as the MFT. I made dividers to house trays/shelves for the systainers which ride on full-extension slides (thanks Travis). The front houses two columns of systainers and a storage area for sandpaper. I plan to add a shallow sliding tray on the upper left side for small parts and accessories.
The drawers on the right have extra storage compartments in the back of each tray.
Finally the back side houses the vaccum and will hold another column of systainer trays. (room for growth. .gif) )
The cabinet is on wheels and I plan to add a face frame to each side. I am also storing the MFT parts underneath along with extra vacuum bags. I glued 4 squares to the top to positively engage the MFT and keep it in place.
It is high, but I like that better.

Surprisingly, there are no Festool dealers in Iredell county at this time that I know of. SteveD |

P.S. When can we expect the Lithium Ion Drills from Festool.

Feel free to drop me a line if you have any shop questions (on lighting, power distribution, storage, fume extraction, etc). I'm relatively new to Festool but have been designing garages and workshops since leaving IBM in 1994....see http://www.ultimategarage.com/about.htm .

P.S. When can we expect the Lithium Ion Drills from Festool. And I apologize for that....anyone can configure a big steel cabinet like I did to store things....it takes a bit more time and skill to build one. I think we can both agree that the factory Festool Sysports are overpriced and from my personal experience, over a third of the ones I've ordered have come in damaged (dented and/or racked).
The Lithium drills are scheduled for end of 1Q....unless there are more UL delays. Steve D |

I was just ribbing you. It is an awesome cabinet and it LOCKS! My shop is 12.5 x 22.5 feet. It has 11.5' ceilings so I have to be creative in my use of space. If space were not a limit....Ah, don't tempt me.
