Fire at Scott's Shop

Hey guys I wanted to let you know Scott Smith had a fire in his shop - it's a total loss - but the plus is NO ONE WAS HURT. He sent me an email with pictures and captions - for some reason I can not get them downloaded to my computer to post here.

Scott - if there is anything, I mean anything I can do for please let me know.

That is terrible to hear. I am very glad Scott is okay. If you read this Scott and need any help over the next few evenings and weekend, don't hesitate to holler.

Re: Fire at Scott's Shop

All - thanks for the kind words. Right now I'm just kinda numb...

Here are some photos...

Can you find the Harley? Hint - it's right behind $8,000.00 of melted Festool's...

This photo includes a melted belt sander (in the foreground), tablesaw, shaper, and large cast iron RAS, in addition to a melted DeWalt scrollsaw that came from Travis and Jeremy.

The planer is on the right, and a Festool MFT is on the left. The motorcycle in the middle is/was my wife's Yamaha.

Re: Fire at Scott's Shop

I heard the same and wondered why he hadn't posted it here The pictures were spectacularly horrible. I am having the same prob as Jeff with downloading them. Basically the roof and attic over the shop caught fire. The Fire Dept's efforts, and the collapse of the upper areas is really what got his shop and equipment. He said the gun safe was going off like a popcorn machine.
Everybody is OK, but the 16" jointer ain't looking so good

Scott you know that we are all there for you and your family if you need anything...except a 16" jointer (few of us are tooled that well ).

God bless you and may everything go smoothly with the restoration.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Re: Fire at Scott's Shop

That is terrible, if there is anything I can do although I am farther away than some, I will be glad to help. I do mean anything you need, as a former firefighter I kinda know from seeing others go through this kind of thing what you are facing. We are here for you man.

I can understand you being kind of numb. When that passes and you decide to rebuild, and would like some help, let me know. I live in Pittsboro, not to far from you and am available most days. This includes tear down and or rebuild. Sorry man.

Re: Fire at Scott's Shop

Scott, I am on-call the week of July 4, August 16, & Sept 27. Except for those weeks, I a can give you a weekend (perhaps a 3-day weekend) of free liftin'-n-totin' most any week.

If you need something from this area, I can bring it down (if it fits in a Nissan Frontier).
