I am accumulating a pretty good supply of clamps of all kinds and sizes. How do you store your clamps? I need to take advantage of "vertical" or overhead space rather than floor space if possible, but I'm open. Thanx as usual for your input.

I just recently went with the 36" clamp rack from WoodPecker's. Here is the link: http://www.woodpeck.com/36steelclamprack.html
It is on sale, I think it still is... for $25 or so. Mine literally just came today. Looks great! High quality product and worth the money, IMHO, and the time savings.
Best,
Mark

Name: Rob City: Hendersonville State: NC County: Henderson Join Date: Nov 2005 Age: 66 Avg Visit Freq/Week = 6.84 over 180 days | I built a mobile "A-frame" rack from 2x4 stock and some scrap plywood and mounted it on casters -- holds about 50 clamps. I cut slots every 1-1/2" deep enough to hold bar clamps in 3 of the horizontal 2x4's on one side with my dado blade; then drilled 1" diameter holes at same interval in two 2x4 that were clamped edge to edge, with the holes along the center seam -- that left nice depressions for my pipe clamps for the other side of the rack. 2x4 form the horizontal stretchers across the faces of the "A-frame". At base of the "A" is a plywood floor for miscellaneous spring clamps and C-clamps. I came move it where ever I need it, but it is full and I've got more clamps now than when I built it! (Like a bunch of Bessey K-body clamps -- need to make a wall rack for those). Sorry, I don't have any pics -- must take some...

Name: Travis City: Wake Forest State: NC County: Wake Join Date: Dec 2005 Avg Visit Freq/Week = 5.83 over 180 days | I used to use a home made rack for my pipe and bar clamps with one clamp per slot, but it eats wall space fast. I have since moved to being able to stack lots in one space. Although efficient, I want to eventually move to a rolling rack to have the clamps closer to what I am working with.
This is what I use for C clamps and F clamps.
Still need to come up with something for hand screws, but I haven't really seen anything I like. |
