Worksharp 3000 $189 at Sears

I spotted the Worksharp 3000 at Sears on sale for $189 today. I didn't even know that Sears was now carrying it. It is normally $199 at most places.

In any event, I can't wait to try it out on some planes and chisels.

Sounds like you more than "spotted" it -- it must have jumped into your cart, eh? Stealth gloat if I ever heard one! I have one, too -- mine was awarded as a door prize at the Spring Picnic and it is a great sharpening tool! I will be bringing it to the Klingspor Extravaganza on Saturday and doing some hands on demos.

Do you have any problem with the metal getting hot when sharpening with the Worksharp.Tony

Re: Worksharp 3000 $189 at Sears

The only time I've felt anything get hot was an old plane blade that was very banged up. I was hogging off a lot of material for a while. Even then, it only got warm, not too hot.

In general the heat sink seems to work pretty well. That, coupled with the fact that you are only spending a minute or so at each grit setting, seems to keep the blades cool.

I likey mine big time!

Now I don't have to work with dull tools (or buy a new one every time I need something sharp ).
