I'm not a tool expert, but those look like some pretty good deals.

Re: Woodworking tools on G'boro CL

I have the Ridgid jointer and the Ridgid planer. Both serve me well. And the prices look good. I would prefer checking the knives before making a firm offer, though.

Re: Woodworking tools on G'boro CL

Ray,

Why would the knives on the jointer be a show-stopper? I have heard that some Ridgid parts are a bit of a challenge to obtain. Is this one of those issues?

Re: Woodworking tools on G'boro CL

Steve,

I was just doing a bit of cost analysis. If the blades are damaged and need to be replaced, that adds to the cost of the machine before it becomes usable.

Re: Woodworking tools on G'boro CL

Understood.

BTW, I've pretty much reserved it and am going to pick it up. I'll have a new tool gloat shortly. I won't be using the Miata, however...

I'm gonna try getting it into LOML's Sable wagon. I'm wondering if anyone around Alamance - Greensboro area has a small utility trailer I could borrow Saturday.

Re: Woodworking tools on G'boro CL

The Rigid planer shouldn't be too difficult to move... but the jointer... the bed is all iron... very heavy. Bring some help when you pick this thing up.

Steve I used to have one but sold it and of course its my weekend to work or I'd be glad to go with you in the truck and haul it back. Sorry I'm not much help.

Re: Woodworking tools on G'boro CL

No worries, Bryan. I'm gonna rent a little trailer for 15 bucks. It will be cheaper than feeding someone but not as much fun!
