The Memphis Midtown Sears stores has a box display of the 931481 6" mini bar clamps (2 1/2" depth) bundled in pairs for $14.99, which is the regular price for a single clamp. I have several of the larger models (and one smaller) and appreciate the novel release lever which also serves to open the clamp (move it in the other direction with each squeeze).
I also picked up a pair of similar Jorgenson clamps in a twin-pack for $12.97. I had never seen these in any store. They lack the reversing feature, but offer a more secure grip and seem to handle higher pressure better (slightly thicker bar).
I have learned that ratchet bar clamps are like about everything else - you get what you pay for. The Irwin Quick-Grip XP models will exert the most pressure, but are about the most expensive. |
