Guys,
www.auctionorange.com
If your within striking distance I'd think about this auction on Saturday. I'm tied up changing my address this weekend or I'd be there. Looks like a a ton of stuff I would not mind having.

Re: Auction - Sneads Ferry

It is an estate sale for Brad Chaucer. He was killed in a traffic accident this past summer. He was a member of WAWA (Wilm. Area Woodturners Assn.) Brad was an awesome turner as well as a mentor to new members of WAWA, with some of his works selling at Barokes in Wilm. He also was a modeler and did flat woodworking projects besides his turnings. I understand he has lots of very nice tools. His wood stash was donated to WAWA and was sold to members. I got some pretty awesome blanks. I intended to go to the auction, but I'll be in Tenn.

Re: Auction - Sneads Ferry

I plan to be there early Saturday morning. I did a preview Monday. They didn't have everything organized but I got a fairly good view of the tools. Brad was not shy when it came to buying nice tools. I counted several Lee Nielsen hand plans, several power tools still in the unopened boxes. Brad also was a model builder. He had stacks of unopened expensive model kits (military type stuff). This should be a very interesting auction. I think my tool budget may be in the RED after tomorrow.

Brad is missed at the WAWA club. He contributed a lot to the club and arranged for our visiting demostrators.

Re: Auction - Sneads Ferry

I attended this auction and was able to get a few tools to feed my addiction hobby.

3/8" drill, boxes of allen head bolts, handled allen wenches and lathe chuck jaws. I got these in a box of "stuff". It had 8 complete sets of chuck jaws and one odd jaw. Four of the sets fit my two chucks.

18 Lathe Chisels. John Jordan, Doug Thompson, Robert Sorby and others.

Hand Saws and misc. Japanese Saws and others.

This was by far the most tools and other stuff I have ever seen at an auction. Needless to saw I enjoyed myself.

Brad's family was pleased the sale was well attended and that the attends were able to get some good buys.
