Re: !00+ yr old black walnut Raleigh CL
$15 per BF for thick stock air-dried only 18 months. I want some of what he's smoking
For his sake I hope PT Barnum was right.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Re: !00+ yr old black walnut Raleigh CL
In my limited experience with wood purchases even I knew that was a bit overpriced.

I expect he will take less, a lot less, after he hasn't had any offers for a month or two.

Re: 100+ yr old black walnut Raleigh CL
When I look at this I feel like a real sucker - I don't care to count how many 100++ year old walnut logs I've cut and sold for a lot less than $15.00 a BF.
My question is 100 YO walnut worth $15.00 a BF? answer: Maybe... if each board has a 20.00 gold piece in it.
Thanks

Thanks for jumping in Gary. As you can see, you'll get some good analysis of possible deals by some honest folks here. Everyone's just looking out for the best deals for the group.
BTW, what kind of turning do you do? It'll be good to have another turner on board. If you get a chance, pop on over to the "Who We Are" forum so folks can give you a warm welcome!
