Stopped By bluthart's Lumber Store and

these jumped right in the truck. Check the swirls! 2X4X8 and 2X6X8 White Oak w/denatured ETOH to show the grain. Lots more where these came from. They were originally milled for a furniture factory and very clear, straight and dry. He's just off 321 on 73 in Iron Station (near Kyle's/Lincolnton) and worth checking out. He has an ad in the classified section.

Re: Stopped By bluthart's Lumber Store and

Sweet looking QS WO - if you don't mind me asking what does KD 8/4 QSWO S4S go for?

I will be looking to expand a little in the near future - I have my eye on a 48" planer that sits sideways on a dual axle trailer - It has air cooled 4 cylinder Wisconsin gasoline engine to run the planer. I think a the guy told me it's 50HP but can't be for sure because I didn't take any pictures or write anything down - dumb hu? Also I can't remember the make and model number of the actual planer but it's old iron and has bearings not bushings - I did check that... He also has some profile knifes that were custom made to kick out multiple pieces of trim and beveled edged siding at one time. The machine is a beast and I could tell he did a lot of customizations to get it up and running the way he wanted it too... When I went an looked at it - it was set up for chair he kicked out some nice looking chair rail with it but man that machine was LOUD. I really like the idea of the planner being mobile on a trailer and all and gasoline driven not electric - even though I would probably just set it up under a shed and not move it much.

if you don't want to post the price here, could you please PM me, I need to do some math see if it's worth the purchase of the planner.

Thanks

Re: Stopped By bluthart's Lumber Store and

Here's his Craigslist ad:

5/4 and 4/4 hardwood lumber, Maple, Red and White Oak, Basswood and Poplar. I also have Brazilian Cherry (Jatoba), clean Maple, and some with wormholes for character. I would be willing to surface and square the boards, or cut to length or width. I also have black walnut and cedar. Prices vary depending on species. Delivery possible. All wood is kiln dried and stored indoors.
Here are some prices for my lumber. All boards are 5' in length unless otherwise noted. Thanks!

4/4 prices
red oak - $2.00 BF
white oak - $2.25 BF
poplar - $1.50 BF
soft maple - $2.25 BF I have clear or some with worm holes
brazilian cherry - $5.50 BF
basswood - 2.00 BF
black walnut - $3.50 BF

5/4 in most species except brazilian cherry and walnut, add $.50 per board foot.

I do have some longer boards in red oak, walnut and very wide, long boards of brazilian cherry.

The 8/4 QSWO is not on the listing so you will need to check with him. I paid a premium but not a whole lot more.
