Hey All, I really thank you all for all your help and advice. I really,... don't have any big problems, I just let this guy get to me. Sorry about that. However,... I just got done loading his logs up and putting him on the road.

Lastnight I had someone try to break into my house while I was sleeping. I woke up and I hollard out the door if your still there when I open this door I'm punching holes thru you. I think that was fair warning. when I opened the door he was at the end of my deck and started walking toward me. I knew he had to come my way to get to the opening to exit the deck. That 45 is loud in the middle of the night. I do have a permit to carry,... so when this guy got here this morning, I was packing in full view. He asked why I had a gun and I told him. He said, hey would you mind just loading my logs on my trailer for me I'll take them elsewhere. I said sure thing buddy I think thats a great idea, for 50 bucks I'd be glad to. Problem solved. I am now thinking about doing just like I said in an earlier post about just sawing for myself and just selling a little lumber on CL and the few other outlets I have. It's a shame a man has to carry a gun at his own home. But I'm sure glad I do. I just don't get it?? I try to be good people as much as I can but, seem to draw scumbags like fly's to honey. I thank God I didn't have to drop the guy lastnight. But I bet he needed a new pair of shorts this morning.

No,... he wasn't there looking for help or anything like that or he would have knocked on the door instead or trying to snatch it open. Had he gotten in, he would be the proud owner of a brandnew toetag this morning and I'd be at the copshop instead of telling this story. God is good to me. The only bad thing is my deck has a hole in it now.

Randy, when it comes to someone trying to break into your house it is getting serious. And that guy is lucky you didnt shoot him. When it comes to sawing, I'm sure you can do custom sawwork for the nice people of North Carolina Woodworker, and cut wood to sell on this web site. I'm sure every bit you cut will be bought.

Thank you very much taandctran. Yeah he's making a fatal mistake if he thinks I won't send him to his maker. Really though I don't wanna talk like that anymore. I just wanna be a good guy and hang out with good people. I will make anybody on this site a good deal,... better than to the public. I promise. Thanks again for your kind words.

Randy; I fully empathize with your situation. I too have a CC permit, and don't like to think of having to use the weapon. BUT, times are what they are and we live in them.

Best of luck with whatever path you take, and remember what an old Bud of mine used to say when he CC'd in NY city daily. "I'd rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6!"

Re: Sorry for my rants

Sorry to hear about the recent experiences and glad everything turned out alright. Never feel bad about being armed. You carry a spare tire in your vehicle don't you? Plenty of times I've been packing while out cutting the grass or just roaming around the yard. In 54 years of living I've only had to draw on two people. Problem solved. No rounds fired but the sound and visual of my clicking the safety off the .45 communicated the fact the bandsaw was over.

Do what you enjoy doing and if you can make a few bucks at it, great. I'm sure plenty of folks on here would gladly pay you a fair price for your work.
