Next Raleigh Lumber Run is scheduled for Saturday May 31 in the Raleigh Harbor Freight parking lot right off US1 (Capital Blvd). It's be Jack (saw4you) and myself this time.

Since there was some confusion with May 18'ths run that was 100% my fault I have more lumber than I thought I did and I couldn't get it all on my trailer. I figured I would do this lumber run a little different. Several folks have asked for different kinds of wood. What I'll be bringing is already cut and kiln dried. Jack however can offer saw to order green and may have some air dried already cut. Please reply to this post with species and thickness in quarter inches (4/4 5/4 6/4 8/4 ...) desired, so Jack can get a handle on how much of what he needs to bring and if he has it available.

After talking with Jack here's what he has available and his pricing.
* Black Walnut cut to order up to 2000BF 17205BF Left green not air or kiln dried[/u] @ $1.85 a BF here's your chance to get some thick Black Walnut
* Eastern Red Cedar up to 300BF 190BF Left $1.30 a BF (approx 100 BF 4/4 already cut and air dried / approx 200 BF available to cut to order, cut to order will be green not air or kiln dried )
* Jack mentioned he also has other species (Persimmon, WO, QS Poplar, etc... that he can also cut to order which will be green not air or kiln dried[/u]).

I will be bringing (all my lumber is already cut and has been kiln dried - pricing is $1.50 a BF irregardless of species)
* Approx 800 SOLD OUT 4/4 KD Flat Sawn Maple
* Approx 300 SOLD OUT 4/4 KD Quarter Sawn White Oak
* Other KD lumber I dig out of the shop - as I find other lumber I will update this post.

Since we have limited quantities - The only fair way - is first to reply to this thread is first to pick theirs at the lumber run, unless you have Jack cut to order. So if you are interested in purchasing any of the lumber mentioned above please reply to this post with species and desired board foot.

Re: Raleigh Lumber Run #2 - May/31/08

I could use 50 -75 ft of the maple and maybe a little misc. wood depending on what you can dig up. I would like to make arrangements to pick up (i e-mailed earlier) cause i'm local (Oxford). Let me know if we can work something out.

Dan sorry about not answering your email - the ad software spammed me with emails. Tell you what I'll do - since you are the first to reply you get first pick. I will personally deliver to you the morning of May 31st - I'll be going right through Oxford on my way to Raleigh anyways so I'll just swing by your place before the lumber run. I'll load the 4/4 maple last so it's on top of the trailer for easy pickings.

Thanks

Re: Raleigh Lumber Run #2 - May/31/08

Jeff - if you have clean white 4/4 maple, I'll take 200 bf. If you can find some clean white 8/4 to go with it, put me down for another 100 bf of that.

I'm also interested in thick green stock for turning. Can Jack cut some 4"+ thick material in walnut, persimmon or another close-grained hardwood (more m-m-m-maple ?) ?

ARG! More wood! Actually, I need 30bf of 5/4 KD Red Oak. If you have any of that, well, I'd like you make you not have it

I'd also like one board of the 8/4 walnut, something around 5bf.
