Quite a Haul

I guess this is my Christmas gift to me. Bought a load of cherry and walnut from Jack (saw4you) today in Rolesville. Was planning on just buying about 200ft of walnut and wound up looking like this-don't try this at home!

Jack is a nice guy and would highly recommend him for your lumber needs. He has a lot more walnut on the way and has some cedar and quartersawn oak as well.

David

I always get the "maybe I shouldn't have" thoughts when loading a Nissan Frontier, but they always seem to make it through. Must be a tough little truck. Looks like you got that one loaded to the gills I'm glad you made it home ok and was able to steer and stop, bet it was one smooth ride home. I've always wondered what the weight rating on those truck?

Nice haul and I'm glad you found jack - he's a pretty cool guy...

Thanks

NICE SCORE, DAVE!

But that part about Jack being a nice guy------??????

No, I just met Jack down at Ivey's a while back. He's a great guy with a lovely family.

Can't wait to see what you make from some of that stuff!

Re: Quite a Haul

Well you have great taste in selecting Christmas gifts!

That truck looks just a little bit loaded.

Is the wood dry or green?

Re: Quite a Haul

David,

Congrats on a terrific wood score. It just doesn't get much better than a load of cherry or walnut. What are you planning on making with all that wood? You know we need some photos of the projects...

Re: Quite a Haul

The walnut will be for some kitchen cabinetry and desk (free standing furniture) and the cherry will become an entertainment piece that I keep getting nagged about (she does not like the orange crates).
