Re: Northern WBC

Man that sucks, I was looking forward to spending $350 bucks . Thanks Jeff for having the insight and integrity to say no to a bum deal. And thanks for looking out for the best interests of all us guys. That is the reason I like to get my wood from you...you're good people!!!

Dave

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Re: Northern WBC

I second, third, fourth, etc, what DaveO and everyone else said.

Thanks for the offer in the 1st place, and thanks for having the knowledge to know when to walk away.

Oddly, Kenny Rodgers "The Gambler" is playing in my head now.

Jeff, thanks for looking out for us! Win some, lose some. Oh, and don't forget to factor in your gas expenses into the next run.

Re: Northern WBC

Hmm! Jeff, if you can only haul 600 bf, you MUST have bought that Chevy or GMC truck! I can haul 600 bf easily in the back of my Ram 1500!

Ivey and I tried to advise you! Good luck on your trip and getting back home. One thing is comforting, there are lots of GM dealers between here and Illinois!!

Re: Northern WBC

Guys - I really can not stress enough - seal up your log ends with Ancorseal or other brand of log end seal / wax emulsion paint and when drying don't exceed the maximum moisture content loss perday for the species and thickness.

I just got back from Illinois and seen a lot of what would have been awesome lumber turn to pile of junk in a home built solar kiln. I'm not saying it's the solar kiln, please don't think dis'ing solar kilns because the same thing could happen just as easy in a DH kiln. But what I am saying is lack of preparation (sealing log / lumber ends) and drying to fast causes a lot of drying defect which reduces the grade and makes a much less valuable product.

Thanks
