McQuen lumber

There use to be a lumber company on South Blvd in Charlotte. I am not sure of the spelling. I was told today they may be in the Matthews area. Anyone know if this is true?

Try looking for McEwen Lumber Co. Not sure where they are now.

Re: McQuen lumber

McEwen Lumber is in Charleston, SC and possibly other locations. They have a very good selection but only sell wholesale to a licenced business.

Re: McQuen lumber

McEwen lumber is in High Point now and there is a McEwen in the Raleigh area. Check out the "Where Are?" tab in the scroll down menu on the left of the screen.

Re: McQuen lumber

As Jerry said, they're in Thomasville.
To get any kind of a deal, it's a $400 minimum, and based on what they charged me for some KD cypress this past summer, hold on to your wallet!!

Nice folks, but, I think they're more interested in cabinet makers that small WW's. What do you think, Jerry??

Well at least you shouldn't have any problem making the minimum.

Re: McQuen lumber

I ended up driving to Wall lumber, since one of the guys that work there basically said you will not pick thru the wood!

I need some min. width boards and if i spending 400-700 i will not take a bunch of small width boards that i couldn't use.

I have bought from them 2 x's so far and been there 4 x's and each time i have bought, the guy sitting at the counter is the one i bought from.

The 2 x's i haven't bought was when the guy sitting at the desk on the left side was in the office, I walked out the door and didn't buy anything. Do to his rudeness.
