Name: jeff... City: Stovall State: NC County: Granville Join Date: Mar 2006 Avg Visit Freq/Week = 6.77 over 30 days | Well my Son left a few days ago stopped in for a week on leave from the USMC he is going to try and work out shipping a container full of logs to me from Hawaii. He said he made some contacts out there and thinks he can get a container load together to have shipped to me. We'll have to see what the cost is and if it do-able. But Assuming it's do able, what's some of the more desirable lumber / species that comes from Hawaii? So I can tell him what to ask for.
There is a lot of planning and I'm sure paperwork but he said it's imports to Hawaii that's a problem - he was thinking exports should be easier? But then again I don't know - nothing ventured nothing gained right?
Thanks

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

I remember it grows in the higher elevations. I was some used for turning bowls that was very unusual. |

If you get a shipment from Hawaii, please put me down for 100 bf of 8/4. We'll decide on the type of wood when you get it.

I am always interested in any wood you get, The amount that I buy is always based on the amount of money that I have at that time. Because I would buy it all, if I could afford it all .

Thanks for the heads up and good luck to you and your son on the Hawaii log hunt!! BTW the walnut I got from you a few month back is coming along (air drying) nicely. Should have it outta the way by the time you get anything from the islands. |
