You really don't want to plant an Empress Tree (Paulownia tomentosa) in your yard. They are highly valued in Asia, but like Kudzu were given(released) to us and they don't perform well here. When grown slowly the wood can be nice, but they grow too fast around these parts and aren't worth much. They are highly invasive, and have very weedy growth. If you drive through the Smoky Mtns. you will see them taking over everywhere. They do have a very beautiful flower in a nice dusty purple color blooming in mid spring. The leaves are huge and really make a mess in the fall.

Yep, there's an Princess (Empress???) tree about 200 yds down the road. IMO the flowers are pretty, but otherwise it's not very impressive.

Re: Interesting tree and wood facts...

Very interesting Dave! Research always causes me to research deeper into the article printed. One caught my eye and of course I had to look it up. It says:
* There are 21 names of woods mentioned in the Bible.
Confusing??

How many TREES are named in the BIBLE????

Just thought I would put this out as a research Question!
Who has the answer?
THE ANSWER IS? _______ Terry
