Eastern Elm

Saw the following ad in the Cary paper. I don't know anything about it, just putting it here for anyone that might be interested.

" WOODTURNERS, lavish red-grained Eastern Elm, raw wood lengths, various sizes. Best offer. Call 919-929-9702."

That's exactly as the ad appeared in the paper.

Re: Eastern Elm

Lavish ?!? Wow and I thought I got excited about grain patterns . Perhaps I should use "flowery" words like this to spark arrousal, exicitment and desire? Nah... I do have to admitt, Elm is some pretty wood, but to call it lavish is a little over the line for me...

Re: Eastern Elm

I have never heard of "Eastern Elm" I wonder if it is Ulmus rubra-Red (Slippery) Elm, U. alata - Winged Elm, or U. americana - American Elm.
That makes a big difference.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Re: Eastern Elm

Maybe it's Ulmus Cary NC Lavish - Lavish North Carolina Cary Elm?
