I'm planning on getting a little curly maple from Lumber Sourcing in SC, and thought I'd ask if anyone wants to add to the order. They'll make a delivery run when they get enough to justify the trip to Raleigh. I'll order 100 bf to get the $4 pricing, and add to that if folks want some. Gwen mentioned in her email that they have some "furniture grade" cherry for 1.90 bf. A recent thread had some pics of the maple; looks like nice wood: http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/f...ht=curly+maple

How much is enough to justify trip? Would be nice to get a specific #

Plus if we "tag" on to your order of 100 bf, we still get the $4 bf price, yes?

Thanks

Re: Curly Maple, Anyone? Anyone?

I don't know how much they would have to have for a trip. This small amount would have to piggyback on a larger order being delivered to the Raleigh area. I don't need it right away, so I'm flexible. The price would be $4 plus whatever they end up charging for freight. That's why I would guarantee at least 100 bf, to get the lower price.

Da je vous?
Dan, I would like 20 ft of the maple and 50 ft of the cherry, if you can work that in.
Thx,
Joe

Re: Curly Maple, Anyone? Anyone?

I would be interested in 100bf of the cherry but would like to know thickness first. Any idea? Maybe some pictures?

Re: Curly Maple, Anyone? Anyone?

From what I can tell, they surface their stock to 15/16. I'd rather they left it rough, but it's not my decision. You can get a little more info on them at www.lumbersourcing.com

Re: Curly Maple, Anyone? Anyone?

I just heard from Gwen at Lumber Sourcing that the delivery will be $90. That works out to about 0.25/bf, making the maple 4.25 and the cherry 2.15. It will be delivered to my house in Southern Wake next Friday, don't know a time window yet. I've just had shoulder surgery so if anyone is free that day to help with unloading/stacking, I'd appreciate it. I don't have room to store this very long, so if you can pick it up next Friday-Sunday, that would be great.
