Drum Sander Table

Here's a 2 hour, < $20.00 handy tool you can make. It's 18" square top & bottom with a dust collection chamber in the center.
Dust extraction is excellent. Circle cutter or hole saw for the clearance hole. I made mine with a 3 1/2 inch hole and a 4" sq insert shelf. Mortising bit works well here.

Re: Drum Sander Table

Another great shop aid, Joe!!!

Question(s).............. How does the DC hose connect to the table (underneath)? Also, do you have it riding in the t-track at the base?

Very nice design!

Wayne

The hole is 2 5/16 with some silicone caulk smeared around for grip.

Also, do you have it riding in the t-track at the base?
No, once I get the drum centered, I just clamp the base.

Here's a couple of pix for your reference in case you want to do one. This one is for my neighbor. As you can guess, the torsion box parts were made from scrap that was 5-6 inces wide. Notice that the hole is off-centered so I can get my fat hand in!
