Hello,

I am trying to finish a burl veneered table top. What is the best finish that the grain can be enhanced? I have both oil stain and water soluble dyes. The table top measures 64"x34". Any tips are greatly appreciated.

Regards.

What type of burl? I would recommend against using a stain. A dye can be used to bring out the grain more. Personally I would go with a natural colored oil finish and not mess around with nature's beauty too much.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Gotta go with Dave,To me putting a stain on burl is almost sacrilegious ,I would put a clear coat finish, many to choose from the more coats, the deeper the shine.Good luck an don't forget the pics.
