So I've got these Doug Fir brackets a made from ripped down glullams and a walnut front door that I need to finish. I didn't make the door but did the brackets.

I really would like to use the best clear finish possible and would like to use the same product for both, if there is one. What would be the recommendations, a marine finish? We don't have alot of marine supply stores around here.

Thanks

General Finishes 450 Exterior. Clear and good UV resistance.

Myles, when we would get through building a house and the owner wanted the exterior doors stained we would always pur poly on them - I guess that was ok since it was under shelter - I don't know about your rail and brackets - I would go with something in the marine finish - hope someone that has a better knowledge will jump in and help you out better with this

I agree with the general finishes 450 exterior, it is great.

How would the GF450 compare to the Penofin Marine Oil performance wise. I realize one is a varnish and the other is a penetrating oil but what would be the benefit of one over the other.
