Got this turkey to do for commission and after looking at it I thought that it would be a fairly easy cut boy was I wrong I started in the middle and was working my way out

View image in gallery

Got this far with cutting the veins - found out quick that veins are not easy - came around the head part and things got scary - Had to put some tape on the front and back side to keep the head from chattering up and down -plus sloooowwwer the saw down - breakage fosure

I made it through with the head and I finished cutting the body down to just below the tape - then I started cuttin the tail feather section

I stopped and taped down a zero clearance (!/4 plywood) under the cutting to give it even more support and had to get my finger pretty close there - Believe me I was nervous

More ppicture to come - I hope that this turkey will be hanging on the wall soon

That's a lot of cutting! Looks like the project came out nicely.

Wow great job Phill. I really like that lay out.

Now if I can improve my sawing as good as you are, and you can improve your macro photography to as good as me well both be set! LOL

When you told me today it was finished, I could not wait to see it. Awesome as usual.

Re: One tough bird ( update)

Wow - that's some project! The owl I did awhile back was the most challenging piece I will probably every do. It's cool - but burned me out for quite awhile. Great job - can't wait to see it finished and framed!
