Re: Judy Gale Roberts Pattern

Wow, it looks as there was as much carving involved as there was scrollsawing. I am torn as to which forum it should be posted in
Either way that's a beautiful piece

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Great job Greg on the Intarsia - I wish that I would take the time and do that - I have seen some beautiful work from fellow scrollers

Re: Judy Gale Roberts Pattern

Thanks for the encouragement! Absolutely no carving involved on this one - a lot of sanding, though. My belt sander got a workout and my fingers are a little raw. The mrs says I need some heavy duty leather gloves but I don't see how that will do anything but impede my ability to get a piece done.

Re: Judy Gale Roberts Pattern

A little tab of duck tape on the back will give you something to hold while you sand.

How did you do the creases on the main part of the bow?

An excellent job, by the way!

I put a 2.5" diameter sanding wheel/drum on my drill press, drew out the lines for the creases and did my best to carefully run the edge of the sanding wheel along those lines. Next time I might try my dremel but I get the feeling I'll have more control with the drill press/sanding wheel.
