I finally got around to finishing the project I started a few weeks back. He is 6" tall and carved from basswood with an acrylic wash finish. Thanks for looking and as always, comments and suggestions appreciated.

Well seeing as I recognize it as John McCain, I think you've done really outstanding as usual.
Your caricatures are outstanding, perfect in every way. They are recognizable as the person who they are, but highlight their most notable features. I have always admired the caricature artists at the Fair, such talent, but you take it to a 3-D level.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Re: WIP-Finished

Thanks to all for your kind comments. I must admit that he turned out a little better than I expected. Yeah, wish I could have made it to the picnic. From the photo's and comments, looks like everybody had a great time. I'm planning on next year. I did display some of my carvings at the Klingspor Wood Carving show this March in Raleigh and got a few surprises - a couple of Blues, a couple of Reds and 2 White Ribbons. I was really grateful since it was my first showing in competition since I started carving last September.

Anyway, Thanks again.

Chuck
