Yippee! Finally I get to GLOAT too!

Picked up my new lathe from HF on Friday night ... braved the cold assembling it! I'm meeting up with DaveO on the 24th so he can teach me the in's and out's of using it!

http://www.ncwoodworker.net/pp/showp...o=8963&cat=801

Now, here is an offer ..... anyone who wants my old Craftsman lathe is welcome to if for $0.00! It needs some work and TLC .... motor runs fine but the whole thing has some rust and needs a tune-up. I talked the previous owner of my house out of it when we bought the place. Like I said, it needs some work ..... but its FREE to whomever wants to come get it!

Jim, you're all set now. Slip, slide, zoom all the way to the bottom...welcome to the slope. I think that you will be very happy with that set up, I am. Looking forward to our "lessons"...I can show you exactly what not to do

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

The old lathe has been claimed by taandctran!

If he can't meet up with us at the Expo on Friday, maybe we can get the Pony Express to get it nearer to him!

Nope - not getting one, not getting one. Did I mention I'm not getting one?

Sweet! I was so glad to call HF and find that they had gotten 4 of the lathes in Thursday. I too am the proud owner of this setup, but other "duties" prevented me from setting it up today. I am looking forward to getting started on it. BTW, Dave has a great deal of patience. I recommend a notepad for all of those tips he has to offer! Congrats on the lathe.
