We are building a 100 seat picnic shelter at a church and we are using 30'+ microlams - we have to cut about 2' off and I decided that I would bring a piece home and cut a block out and see what it would look like if I would turn it - this is what I came up with - That is a piece of the Micro beside of the turning



I applied BLO and four coats of Satin poly - I am going to stain a few to see what they will look like and I have thought about sitting some in some dye to see if it will soak the dye up - What do all of you think - give me some feed back - I can get at least six-seven more pieces of the micro = I think - I do know of four pieces 2' long

Very nice. I've never seen any MicroLim that looks that good. I turned some last year and it had voids in it and was the color of plywood. That is really nice looking wood and a great looking stopper. You should try some sort of bowl out of it as well.

I got a chance to meet up with Phillip this afternoon and not only did I get 2 pieces of the laminated beams but also picked up to pieces of crab apple and 1 small cherry burl and here is the proof
