Hi all,

Alex had a school project that I wanted to share with you. He made this video about pen making (with a twist). He shot and edited all the video himself, which was a rule of the project. Some of you may remember seeing Alex shooting video at Scott Smith's sawmill demo during the recent shop crawl, some of that footage is seen here. Sorry for the small size of the clip, the original is over 300 meg and 5 minutes long so we had to mega-compress it.

Re: School Project

Way COOL!!!!! I have watched this video a number of times and it gets better each time I watch it. Alex's woodworkings skills are great as well as his video work. What will he be like when he's 24, he should go far.
Jack
P.S. I did a pen like Alex does in his video and it turned out great. I love it when I learn how to do something new from some one that is so young.
Thanks,
Jack

Re: School Project

Both projects were awesome! It made short work of the pen - great documentary.

I liked that good safety precautions were evident all the way thru - ears, eys, blade guards, etc. Great Job!!

Re: School Project

Awesome work Alex on the video and pen! Very creative. With the talents you have in multiple disciplines, I believe the future is bright. I have never turned pens, so the video was informative and has sparked my interest in it. Now I just need you to tell my wife I need a lathe.
